Privacy Policy
1 Privacy-First Philosophy
At Clierry, we believe that reading is an intimate, intellectual pursuit that demands complete digital privacy. Your reading preferences, personal notes, and book acquisitions reflect your inner world. We built Clierry as an editorial sanctuary—free from invasive ad trackers, surveillance capitalism, and annoying popups.
This Privacy Policy explains transparently how Clierry collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you browse our digital storefront (clierry.com), purchase ebooks, access your customer library, or communicate with our reader support team. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of international Data Protection and ethical stewardship.
2 Information We Collect
We believe in strict data minimization: we only collect the minimum information required to deliver your ebooks, secure your account, and satisfy statutory financial obligations:
- Account Profile Information: When you register on Clierry, we collect your full name, email address, password hash (encrypted securely with bcrypt), and optional two-factor authentication (2FA/TOTP) credentials.
- Purchase & Order History: When you acquire an ebook, we record your order ID, transaction timestamp, the titles and format editions purchased, promotional wallet balances applied, and tax invoice metadata.
- Technical & Security Logs: When you connect to our services, our edge web servers log your IP address, browser user-agent string, active session timestamps, and authenticated download tokens. These logs are used strictly for session security, rate limiting, tokenized download verification, and fraud prevention.
- Customer Support Inquiries: Any correspondence, feedback, or support tickets submitted through our contact form or dashboard help desk.
3 How We Use Information
Your information is utilized solely to deliver and improve our bookstore experience:
- Digital Delivery: Fulfilling your ebook orders and enabling instant downloads of EPUB, PDF, and Kindle files from your Customer Hub (dashboard.html).
- Account Library Management: Synchronizing your personal reading library, wishlist items, and wallet credits across your devices.
- Transactional Billing & Invoices: Generating formal, compliant tax invoices and receipts viewable in your download vault.
- Account Protection: Detecting brute-force authentication attacks, verifying multi-factor login sessions, and safeguarding digital download links.
- Customer Support: Responding to reader inquiries, resolving download difficulties, and processing refund or satisfaction requests.
4 Payment Security & PCI-DSS Gateways
Clierry takes financial safety seriously. All financial checkout transactions are tokenized and processed through PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateways (including Stripe and Razorpay).
Zero Card Storage Guarantee: Clierry never collects, handles, stores, or processes your complete credit card numbers, CVV security codes, or bank account PINs on our servers. All sensitive financial numbers are handled directly by certified, encrypted gateway iframes.
We receive only an opaque authorization confirmation token, the last 4 digits of the card (for invoice display only), and the card brand from the payment processor to confirm successful order completion.
5 Cookies & Local Storage Usage
Unlike ad-driven platforms that clutter your browser with cross-site tracking pixels, Clierry uses only essential, functional browser storage technologies:
- Session Authentication: Secure, encrypted cookies or
sessionStoragetokens that keep you logged into your Customer Hub as you navigate between pages. - Client Cart Storage: Browser
localStorage(clierry_cart) to retain your selected ebooks in your cart between visits without requiring an immediate account login. - Zero Third-Party Advertising Trackers: We do NOT employ Google AdSense, Meta Pixel, tracking beacons, cross-site telemetry networks, or behavioral profiling tools on our website.
6 Zero Selling of Personal Data
Our business model is straightforward: we sell exceptional ebooks to readers who love them. We do not sell user data. Period.
Ironclad Reader Commitment: Clierry will never sell, lease, rent, trade, or monetize your personal details, email address, transaction records, or reading history to data brokers, advertising agencies, market research firms, or third-party marketing networks.
We share information only with trusted operational service providers who are contractually bound by confidentiality and Data Protection covenants (e.g., our cloud server infrastructure and payment gateways) solely to fulfill our services to you.
7 Data Retention & User Rights
We respect your legal rights regarding your personal information under GDPR, CCPA, and global Data Protection legislation:
- Right to Access & Portability: You may at any time inspect your library records, order history, and profile data in your Customer Hub, or request a complete JSON/CSV export of your data.
- Right to Rectification: You may update your name, email, or password at any time via your account profile settings in dashboard.html.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting our data protection team. Please note that statutory tax invoices must be retained for required regulatory audit periods as mandated by financial accounting statutes.
8 Technical Security Measures
Clierry applies rigorous technical, cryptographic, and procedural defenses to safeguard reader data:
- End-to-End Transport Security: 100% of website traffic and API calls are encrypted using Modern TLS 1.3 encryption with strict HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) enforcement.
- Cryptographic Password Protection: Account credentials are encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing with per-user unique salts.
- Tokenized Download Vault: Ebook files are served through short-lived, signed cryptographic URLs that verify user authorization before streaming EPUB or PDF bytes.
- Automated Intrusion Defenses: Automated rate limiting, CSRF protections, and secure HTTP-only cookie headers safeguard our authentication surface.
